love for the turkish people..and their food

So..Im pretty sure I know how to make a fortune in the US! Turkish Kebabs. There are shops for kebabs all over Europe. Usually you can pay 5 euro and get a Kebab and a drink. So..Im thinking..make friends with some Turkish people..talk to my dear friend Obama and ask if they can come to the US...and open one of these shops on every college campus in the US. I'd be a rich girl. There is no way this business venture could ever fail. No one can mess with the perfection of the Kebab. Anyone with some capital that is interested in making this happen..holla.

Bubble Tea

Have you ever had bubble tea? If not, you should try it. In Berlin, there was the cutest lil tea shop Id ever seen called Chaja Tea to Go. Im not sure if we have bubble tea in the US..but when I get back I will certainly look for it. Im pretty sure if I lived in Berlin..this place would take the place of the Edge.

Berlin

This past weekend some friends and i went to Berlin. Besides for the awful weather, our trip was nice. Berlin is alot bigger than I expected and getting around was more difficult than any of the other cities Ive been too. The first picture is me at the Berlin Wall. This section of the wall is called East Side Gallery. It contains mural after mural of different paintings done by artists from all over the world. The next picture shows Kaiser Wilhelm, a church that was bombed in WW2 and was never rebuilt. The stained glass on the side is the new part. The following two pictures were from the concentration camp. The first is a picture of the memorial that is now built and the 2nd picture is on the gate to the camp saying..work will set you free. The camp was about an hour away from Berlin..so if anyone reading this ever goes..plan to go earlier on in the morning to not waste time. It is of course not the happiest place to visit, but is a huge chunk of history that has shaped us all in some way. Its big and takes a bit to see. The next pic is another from the wall. This I think was my favorite mural! Next is the group at Parliment. The line here was awful, but worth the wait in order to see the view of the city from the top. Next is me at Brandenburg Gate, which is what used to divide Berlin in half. Next to it is the Holocaust Memorial, which unfortunately I didnt get any pics of. The last pic is of the Berlin Cathedral..pretty church right near the German History Museum, which might I add is huge and takes at least 3 hours to see, and the tower of Berlin.

Ranch Dressing

So I was sitting amongst some friends this past week..most of them european..and of everyone in the room..no one had ever heard of ranch dressing. I was blown away..maybe because we eat it on just about everything..pizza and chicken the best in my opinion. Either way..not even knowing what it was..I could not believe it. Luckily, my mom..the sweet dear she is..sent me some in the mail this week...along with some cavendars ..my favorite seasoning :) So..I found this ranch fountain on google images..Im thinking this could be a fun lil thing at my wedding..if that ever happens.

Just say no

I wish more people over here paid attention to the label on the box that smoking kills. Then maybe the rest of us wouldnt be forced to smell like an ash tray and get lung cancer everytime I go anywhere. For my friends reading this that smoke..i say this with love :)

Winter Sports

This weekend I went ice skating in Vienna at the Rathaus, and I went snowboarding at Semmering Mountain. Needless to say, after all of that..Im more sore than Ive ever been in my entire life. Ice skating was truly magical. My first time to ever skate on a rink outside. This is definitely something people should do if they come to Vienna. Only 12euro, so pretty cheap entertainment. Also, there is an inside tent area to warm up and eat right beside it. I had an amazing chai tea latte that tasted just like home. I didnt fall at all while skating, but I plenty made up for it when i started to learn to snowboard. First of all, there were no baby slopes and what was supposed to be the easy slope..im pretty sure was like a blue in the US. So..it took me 2 hours to make it down the mountain my first run. Id say I fell near 30 times, if not more. When I got to the bottom I got my board switched around..and that made all of the difference. My 2nd run down I only fell 7 times compared to 30..so I improved..then only 5 times my 3rd time down. Overall, I had a blast, but my body is one big bruise. Maybe next time I will stick with skiing. I came away from this trip spending only 35 euro. Pretty good for snowboarding all day :)

When sick in Austria...

When sick in Austria...don't go to the hospital urgent care. Or what is supposed to be their urgent care. All I needed was a zpack and some eye drops..and it took me 5 hours. In those 5 hours..I had an EKG ran, chest -rays, and my blood drawn. Luckily, due to the social system in Austria all of my tests that were ran were free. And now I guess I do know for sure that my heart and lungs are both in good condition, not that I thought otherwise. I ended up getting the zpack..after I walked around for 30 minutes trying to find a pharmacy. Note to anycome coming to Austria..pharmacies are labeled with a big "A". I say all of this to say..its not fun being sick this far from home. What's a person to do without their mom, tv, sprite, and chicken noodle soup when sick?
