Berlin

This past weekend some friends and i went to Berlin. Besides for the awful weather, our trip was nice. Berlin is alot bigger than I expected and getting around was more difficult than any of the other cities Ive been too. The first picture is me at the Berlin Wall. This section of the wall is called East Side Gallery. It contains mural after mural of different paintings done by artists from all over the world. The next picture shows Kaiser Wilhelm, a church that was bombed in WW2 and was never rebuilt. The stained glass on the side is the new part. The following two pictures were from the concentration camp. The first is a picture of the memorial that is now built and the 2nd picture is on the gate to the camp saying..work will set you free. The camp was about an hour away from Berlin..so if anyone reading this ever goes..plan to go earlier on in the morning to not waste time. It is of course not the happiest place to visit, but is a huge chunk of history that has shaped us all in some way. Its big and takes a bit to see. The next pic is another from the wall. This I think was my favorite mural! Next is the group at Parliment. The line here was awful, but worth the wait in order to see the view of the city from the top. Next is me at Brandenburg Gate, which is what used to divide Berlin in half. Next to it is the Holocaust Memorial, which unfortunately I didnt get any pics of. The last pic is of the Berlin Cathedral..pretty church right near the German History Museum, which might I add is huge and takes at least 3 hours to see, and the tower of Berlin.
